Boasting a Gold Award, and Regional Lifestyle Awards for outdoor living and bathroom, this exceptional beachside home takes centre stage in Waimarama, with views of the ocean, including Motu-o-Kura / Bare Island.

A finalist in the Top 100 Homes of the Year, this one-of-a-kind house really met the owners brief of ‘somewhere they could retreat to and relax in, where it felt like a holiday every day.’ When it comes to lighting Interior Designer Mandy Ward says “a little can say a lot. We couldn’t pass up using our local lighting design expert David Trubridge who creates beautiful and classic light fittings that can suit any style home. His Kina and Hinaki shades were the perfect complement – replicating the elements of the sea and highlighting the warm wood tones.”

Mandy worked with Hawke’s Bay Electrical to make the perfect plan for the living area. “For the kitchen, we used LED lighting to emphasis standout elements such as the timber island bench, the bespoke glass bar cabinets and the recessed ceiling feature.
